blows towards the low air pressure area from the high pressure areas and causes cyclones. These cyclones cause violent storms, rainfalls and snowfalls. They cause great human and financial losses. Trees are uprooted which block roads and crops are destroyed. Besides land, cyclones are also formed in oceans. Landsliding When rocks and mud of mountains move downwards due to the gravitation of earth, strong winds or heavy rain, it is called landsliding. Landsliding destroys every thing in its way. Routes, roads and highways are blocked due to landsliding, specially in heavy rains which disrupts movement. Earthquake When the outer surface of the earth starts vibration due to different movements in the internal parts of the earth, it is called earthquake. Earthquake is created at one point in the earth but It destroys buildings, bridges and roads. It also affects supply of water, gas, and electricity. its waves travel in all directions. Sometimes, a large number of human lives are lost due to earthquake. Floods When the level of water in rivers rises and rivers start overflowing due to heavy rains and melting of snow mountains, it is called flood.
